Our inline viscosity and density measurement partners

Rheonics

Who they are

Rheonics is a Swiss company, headquartered in Winterthur with a US office in Sugar Land, Texas, that designs and manufactures inline viscometers and density meters. Its sensor technology grew out of resonator research at ETH Zurich and is now used in plants worldwide, from dairy and confectionery lines to chemicals, coatings and energy.

The two core instruments are the SRV inline viscometer and the SRD inline density and viscosity meter. Both use a patented balanced torsional resonator that sits directly in the process and reports live, temperature-compensated readings to your control system, replacing grab samples and lab tests with a continuous signal.

GP Systems is the exclusive distributor of Rheonics in Australia and New Zealand, with local sales, application and commissioning support.

Why choose Rheonics?

Viscosity and density tell you whether a product is on spec, whether a blend or concentration step has finished, and where one product ends and the next begins. Rheonics makes those measurements available inline, every second, without stopping the line or pulling a sample.

The sensors have no moving parts and no elastomer seals, the wetted parts are 316L stainless steel or Hastelloy C22, and hygienic versions carry 3-A and EHEDG certification so they clean in place with the rest of the line. Because the resonator is balanced, readings are not affected by vibration, flow or mounting position, and outputs include 4-20 mA, HART, Modbus, EtherNet/IP and Profinet for straightforward PLC integration.

Rheonics SRV and SRD

We supply the full Rheonics range, led by the SRV inline viscometer and the SRD inline density and viscosity meter, in hygienic, high-pressure and hazardous-area configurations. View the Rheonics products or visit Rheonics for full technical documentation.
