Rheonics SRV Inline Process Viscometer

Rheonics SRV Inline Process Viscometer

The Rheonics SRV is a compact inline viscometer that gives a continuous, real-time viscosity and temperature reading straight from the pipe, tank or reactor. It replaces manual sampling and lab cup tests with a live signal you can trend, alarm on and use for automatic control.

The SRV uses a balanced torsional resonator: the sensing tip vibrates in the product, and the more viscous the fluid, the more that vibration is damped. Because the resonator is balanced, readings are not thrown off by pump vibration, flow changes or how the probe is mounted, and there are no moving parts, seals or elastomers in contact with the product.

Why it suits food and dairy processing

  • Hygienic variants with 3-A and EHEDG certification, plus IP69K-rated sensor bodies for washdown areas
  • Smooth, all-metal wetted surfaces that clean in place with the rest of the line
  • Works on Newtonian and non-Newtonian products, from thin liquids to thick creams and pastes
  • Small enough to fit existing ports with Tri-Clamp, DIN 11851, Varinline, Ingold and other fittings

Specifications

  • Viscosity range: 3 to 3,000 mPa·s standard; 0.5 to 50,000 mPa·s and higher available
  • Accuracy: 5% of reading standard; 1% available
  • Reproducibility: better than 0.1% of reading
  • Process temperature: -40 to 285 °C (Pt1000 built in)
